These Terms are an agreement between you and Lowside Labs, Inc. ("Lowside Labs", "we", "us"), a Delaware C Corporation, covering the Geolingo app, the geolingo.app website, and Geolingo Pro (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
Who Can Use Geolingo
Anyone can play Geolingo. Creating an account requires an email address, so you must be 13 or older to create one, or have a parent or guardian create and manage it for you. A parent or guardian who lets a child use their account accepts these Terms on that child's behalf and is responsible for their use of the Service.
Your Account
You do not need an account to play. If you create one, keep your credentials to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at info@lowsidelabs.com if you think someone else is using it.
You can delete your account at any time from the Passport tab in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your synced progress. It does not cancel a subscription; see below.
Geolingo Pro Subscriptions
Geolingo is free to play. Geolingo Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks additional practice and content, offered in two plans:
- Yearly — $39.99 per year, including a one-week free trial for anyone who has not subscribed before.
- Weekly — $6.99 per week, no free trial.
Prices are in US dollars and may differ in your local currency and with local taxes; the exact price you will be charged is always shown in the app before you confirm.
How auto-renewal works:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period, and keeps renewing until you cancel.
- Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- To cancel, open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, select Geolingo, and turn off auto-renewal. Do this at least 24 hours before the period ends, or the next period will be charged. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Cancelling stops future charges. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- If you start a free trial and subscribe before it ends, the unused part of the trial is forfeited.
Apple, not us, processes payments and manages subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; we cannot issue them directly. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you have already paid for a period and we change the price, the change applies only from your next renewal, and Apple will ask you to confirm before charging you more.
Your Licence to Use Geolingo
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Geolingo on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. This licence is for your own use, not for resale.
What You Agree Not to Do
- Use the Service unlawfully or to harm others;
- Try to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours, or probe or disrupt the Service;
- Cheat, tamper with gameplay or progress data, or circumvent purchase checks to obtain Pro features;
- Copy, scrape, or redistribute our questions, maps, artwork, or other content, except as these Terms or the law allow; or
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except to the extent the law expressly permits.
Our Content
Geolingo, its name, artwork, questions, and software belong to Lowside Labs and its licensors, and are protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms give you no rights to our trade marks.
Geography and Accuracy
Geolingo teaches geography, and we work to keep our facts, borders, and names accurate and current. Even so, geographic data changes and sources disagree, particularly on disputed territories and naming. Nothing in the app is a statement of political position, and it is not a source you should rely on for legal, navigational, or official purposes. Tell us at info@lowsidelabs.com if you spot something wrong — we would rather fix it.
Availability and Changes
We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance. If we make a change that substantially reduces what an active Pro subscription provides, or we discontinue the Service, we will give you notice and you may cancel; Apple handles any resulting refund.
Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that the content is complete or accurate.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent the law permits, Lowside Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep the statutory rights your local law gives you, and nothing here overrides them.
Apple
These Terms are between you and Lowside Labs, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent the law permits, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the courts located there have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of the right to bring proceedings there.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
